2023-24 IGNITE VB Tryout Info
Get excited!!! It’s almost time for club tryouts!!! We are looking forward and ready to IGNITE some awesome players and teams during this great VB club season!!!
Tryouts are also used for team placement. We do have cuts, but we try very hard not to cut in our younger age groups considering this may be the first time these players play competitive volleyball.
Please click the following link to determine which age group you fall under for your tryout date & time posted below. Please attend the appropriate age group tryout. We will determine if players need to be moved among age groups.

The registration link will take you to our SportsEngine registration. The tryout fee is $50 plus the SportsEngine processing fee. If you have any technical issues with the registration process or website, please send a text to or call our Website Coordinator at (225) 802-9998. USAV Bayou Region Tryout Membership Link
The USAV Bayou Region Tryout Membership needs to be filled out as well. Scroll down and select “Purchase Membership” and it will bring you to their SportsEngine tryout membership registration. It will cover your child for the tryout session under USAV. The membership fee is $10.

Tryout Check-in: 15-30 min before tryouts begin; see exact time below.
Orientation: The parent/player meeting will begin at the start of the tryout time for 10s thru 14s.
Location: Parkview Baptist High School Gym (5750 Parkview Church Rd. Baton Rouge, LA 70816)

**ABSOLUTELY NO WALK-UPS WILL BE TAKEN AT TRYOUTS!!! All players must complete their tryout registration (2 links found above) BEFORE 6PM the day before their respective tryout.**
10U,11U,12U
Saturday, Oct 21st
Check-in: 12:30-1:00pm
Tryouts: 1:00-2:30pm
13U & 14U
Saturday, Oct 21st
Check-in: 9:00-9:30am
Tryouts: 9:30-11:30am
If a 2nd evaluation is needed for the 13U &/or 14U age group, it will be Monday, Oct 23rd from 7-8:30.
15U & 16U
Monday, Nov 13th
Check-in: 6:00-6:30pm
Tryouts: 6:30-8:30pm
If a 2nd evaluation is needed for the 15U &/or 16U age group, it will be Tuesday, Nov 14th from 7-8:30pm.
17U
Tuesday, Nov 14th
Check-in: 6:00-6:30pm
Tryouts: 6:30-8:00pm
The 17U tryout will be held at PARKVIEW BAPTIST SCHOOL – Middle School Gym
Team Placement: Players will be notified by email if they have made a team by the following Wednesday of tryouts. This email may or may not come from the player’s coach. Team placement for players WILL continue beyond tryouts to ensure we have placed all players with their appropriate experience and ability level.
Club Position Acceptance: Players will receive an invitation email to join our club. Players will accept their positions by following the instructions given through email regarding making first payments online on the date and time required.
1st Official Team Practice: Players will be notified by email of the date, time, and place.
**Practices this year will be held at both Parkview Baptist School and the Ignite VB Club Facility.

MAKE-UP TRYOUTS for 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U will be Monday, Oct 23rd with check-in from 6:00-6:15pm and tryouts from 6:15-7:30 Parkview Baptist High School Gym. Please follow all instructions with forms to be filled out through links provided. Fees and Forms must be filled out by noon the day of the make-up tryout. All procedures will be the same as the main tryouts. Please keep in mind for optimal showcase of the players’ skills and knowledge, it is HIGHLY recommended the player make every effort to attend the original tryout above. The makeup tryout is harder for us to compare your child to other players when placing them with their appropriate skill level.
